Alias Bank is a product that provides our clients with a new experience of accounts issued by Dock. It connects the payment account's world to the banking world by associating a payment account with a bank account (current account). Alias Accounts are considered current accounts, therefore, a bank, bank branch, and account number are assigned to an individual or company, allowing us to customize the experience of our customers at a new level.
Alias Bank TED-OUT
The TED-OUT feature for Alias Bank is being developed and it is not yet available.
By creating an Alias Account, our clients will be the beneficiaries of the bank transfers to the account. Alias Bank transforms Dock's world by providing our account holders an experience closer to a bank account holder. This service is possible because our partnership with different and innovative banks creates a higher diversification of our fintech world.
When an alias account is created, there are different penalties which start to be contingent upon it as there are broader regulation for bank accounts then there are for payment ones. There are three main institutions which can order the closure of an account:
- BacenJud: System that interfaces Justice to the Central Bank and banking institutions, streamlining the request for information and the sending of court orders.
- Simba: Set of processes, modules and standards for bank data traffic between financial institutions and government agencies linked to the Office of the Attorney General of the Federal Prosecutor's Office.
- Sisbacen: It is an electronic system for collecting, storing and exchanging information that links the Central Bank to agents in the national financial system. It’s the main element that the Central Bank has to monitor and inspect the market.
Account Under Investigation or Sentenced for Fraud
If an alias account is under investigation or was sentenced for fraud, our partner will receive a webhook notification with the change of status, besides being contacted through Zendesk about it. From there on, the account can be unlocked or have other actions upon it depending on the judicial order we receive.
To request an Alias Account, it is necessary to have a payment account (
idAccount) and choose an institution (
bankNumber) from our partner institutions. The API verifies if the request has all the KYC requirements for the selected partner institution at Individuals and Companies.
POST Create Alias Account
The status of the account creation request is defined as
PENDING during the approval process of the Alias bank partner. A webhook will be sent in up to 24 hours to notify the final status.
Webhook Statuses (Account Creation Process)
- If the status is
ACTIVE, that means the account was approved and it generates an Alias Account;
- If the status is
NOT_ACTIVE, that means the account wasn’t approved and it generates an unique id.

As the Alias Bank API can create bank accounts from different institutions, the list below highlights the main features of accounts created in the available institutions and their KYC requirements.
It is possible to create Alias Accounts in more than one bank; thereafter, this documentation will be constantly updated with the list of banks connected to it and their specific responses.
There are extra fields of KYC, which are required depending on the bank in which the Alias Account is being created. This means the Alias Bank account may require further KYC fields from the APIs Individuals and Companies, which are optional to register payment accounts (non Alias Accounts).
This new service was built in partnership with Banco BV, one of the major sponsors of the fintech market in Brazil. The Alias Bank Service is available only to partners who use Dock (Payment Institution) as the custodian of its account holders resources.
